Oyster Bay Activities
HIKING TRAILS (R30-00 for day visitors)
Green Trail: The green trail is 7.5km in length. You will walk across vast stretches of dune, have multiple magnificent views and several spots for a picnic.
Blue Trail: A great trail to experience a little piece of paradise around each corner. It is 6.5km and a multitude of birds, plants and animals can be seen.
Red Trail: Walking 5km through a Fynbos rich area, crossing through a wooded section over a few dunes to the beach. What a scenic way to view our Coastal Reserve.
Yellow Trail: This trail is an excellent trail to do some light walking or an off trail running circuit. It is 3km and you are bound to have great interactions with our fauna.
BEACH HORSERIDE (R400-00 per person)
Have an unforgettable experience while exploring the coastal reserve from horseback and have a gallop or trot along our 3, 5 km private beach next to the waves of the Indian Ocean. This activity always goes out with one of our experienced guides and we have various horses, which are even suitable for the “first-timers” or children. (Maximum 8 guests)

BEACH DUNE SAFARI (R400-00 per person)
Enjoy a once in a lifetime experience on our beach dune safari vehicle through our coastal reserve and dunes, with our dedicated guide who will tell you all about the reserve and the natural surroundings. A stop will be arranged at a lookout point with snacks and a drink (included). Available every day. Speak to our guide for optional extras. (Maximum 10 guests, 5 guests per vehicle)

Your time and place on the reserve or private beachfront. One of our experienced guides on horseback will bring a delicious picnic to you. Please speak to the Activity Host with regards to the contents of the basket, the differences or about any allergies. Available every day.

BOMA BUSH BRAAI (R500-00 per person)
Enjoy a South African braai in our rustic Boma. With your private chef this is the perfect setting to have a night out or a family gathering. Enjoy a traditional 3 course dinner, which includes a starter, a main and a lovely desert. At the end of your evening enjoy a relaxed stroll back to the lodge, with beautiful views of the Milky Way. Bookings need to be placed before 15:00. Tours depart at 17:30. (Minimum of 2 persons)
MASSAGE (R500 Back and neck and R600 Full body)
Spoil yourself with a relaxing massage by our massage therapist at the Boma. Please choose your preferred therapy and refresh your soul. A scrub is available upon request, this is an additional rate.
DAIRY EXPERIENCE (R350-00 per person)
Experience the life of the dairy cows on the Grass Ridge Dairy farm right next door. Our guide will take you through the pastures and around the farm answering any questions that you may have. Then it’s off to the dairy for a look at how more than 1200 cows are milked daily. Available every day at 14:00. (Minimum of 2 persons)
MOUNTAINBIKES (R200-00 per person)
Explore the coastal reserve through a rugged and tough landscape or travel surrounding area of Oyster Bay or the Lodge. Remember your map and possibly a refreshment.

FATBIKE TOUR (R500-00 per person)
Explore our property with our guide. Meet us at the bar for an introduction to fat biking and safety precautions. All tours go to the beach and into the dunes ( if you can make it ). On this tour you will be surrounded by the natural Fynbos and their aromas. The terrain is ever changing, from grassy stretches, sandy spots, steep descents or accents. The tour lasts 1:30 min.

GUIDED BIRD, FYNBOS AND WETLAND WALK (R350-00 per person)
Take a walk in our 235-hectare large property which is home to over 170 different bird species, with a variety of different environments, such as a 3.5 km private beachfront, 2 vast stretches of dunes, wetlands, woodlands, river deltas and a variety of Fynbos. There is a dedicated trail for this walk. The guide will take you along the trail and show you all that is to be seen and a whole lot more. (Minimum of 2 persons)

SAND BOARDING (R300-00 per a board) - 3 hours of usage
Have you ever pictured yourself standing on the top of a dune and see yourself sliding down on a sand board. Feel the wind blow through your hair, while there is nothing but serine beauty surrounding you. We will show you the ropes at the lodge and you can go at your own pace with the sand board.
TOWNSHIP TOUR (R400-00 per person)
Take a guided tour through Umzamuwethu. Should the opportunity arise, we would be able to visit one of the following places, the crèche, primary school, living waters, bottle store and the shop. When on the tour we will be able to meet the children, chat to the locals and stroll through the streets. A refreshment will be provided on the tour. Funds raised on tour is allocated to Non-Profit organizations. (Minimum of 2 persons)

From Cape Town
Coming from Cape Town on the N2 turn off at exit no. 632 Palmietvlei and follow the signs to Oyster Bay Lodge (the road becomes a well-maintained gravel road)for 24 km. Oyster Bay Lodge is situated on the right-hand side of the road.
From Port Elizabeth
From Port Elizabeth take the N2 to Humansdorp. Take the exit Humansdorp/St. Francis/Oyster Bay. After entering Humansdorp at the stop street, go straight into the main street. At the end of the road turn right at the T-junction to Oyster Bay and follow the signs Oyster Bay Lodge. The tar road becomes a well-maintained gravel road, after travelling 23 kilometres, Oyster Bay Lodge is situated on the left-hand side.
